PEOPLE`S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
Guohua Zhao was born in 1971. Now, he is a professor in the Department of Food Science. He received a B.S. in Food Engineering in 1995, a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products in 1998 and 2001, respectively, from Southwest Agricultural University. He has been a visiting staff member at the department of Food Chemistry and Applied Nutrition University of Lund in Sweden during 2004-2005. He joined the Southwest University faculty in 1998.
Research
Research interests focus on the following fields: (1) the role of nondigestible carbohydrates in health and disease, especially in the prevention and treatment of gut diseases, (b) metabolic products of nondigestible carbohydrates in gut, (c) the mechanism of attributes forming during the manufacturing of Chinese traditional foods, (d) novel methods for food chemical and nutritional analysis.
